The First Film For DZFF2010 Is Announced!

If you listen to our podcast you know we’re huge fans of H.P. Lovecraft.  When we got this film as a submission we were excited yet guarded as most Lovecraft adaptations are not that great.  But this one does a great job with the atmosphere of a Lovecraft story that we were happy to accept it for the film festival.

Robert Pickman has become obsessed by visions of unworldly horror, revealed to him through an ancient artifact discovered in an abandoned church. His doctor and friend, Ambrose Dexter is soon drawn into the mysteries surrounding Pickman’s newfound obsession, and struggles to combat forces determined to drag Pickman down the inevitable road to madness.

Based on H.P. Lovecraft’s, HAUNTER OF THE DARK.

Winner of the 2009 H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival for Best Adaptation.
Winner of the 2009 Chicago Horror Film Festival for Best Screenplay.
Winner of the 2009 Chicago Horror Film Festival for Best Actor (Barret Walz).
